BIRIMU
No.3234.
Sir,
Enclosure 4
506
Managing Director's Office,
Canton, 14th August, 1914.
I have the honour to acknowledge the receipt of your letter No.1562/1912 dated 18th June, 1914, enclosing a statement which clearly sets out the basis on which your Government is prepared to agree to the division of joint sectional fares between the Chinese and British Sections of the Canton-Kowloon Railway.
The Chinese Section accepts the proposals set out in
the statement above referred to.
The Chinese Section further agrees to the division
of the minimum charges on the basis set out in the statement.
I shall therefore be glad to receive the division table mentioned in the last part of paragraph 2 of your letter under reply
·
With regard to the last paragraph of your letter, I also beg to state that this division of joint section-al fares
(I notice in paragraph 3 of your letter you referred to sectional
farea: I presume you meant Joint sectional fares) is only agreed to
on the understanding that the whole question may be brought up again
for consideration on the revision of the working agreement.
The Honourable
The Colonial Secretary,
Hongkong.
I have, etc.
Sd.
WEN TEH CHANG
Managing Director.
